How it works

Three steps, handled by a person.

  1. Tell us the job

Your ZIP, the size if you know it, and when you need the box.

  2. We look for a hauler

We look for an independent local company that serves your ZIP.

  3. You decide

The hauler confirms size, date and price. You decide whether to book. If we find no one, we say so.

Local rules

If the box has to go in the street

On your own lot, these rules don't apply. In the street, an alley or on the sidewalk, they do.

  • You need a city obstruction permit before the box goes in the public right of way.
  • The application names the owner, the exact spot and how long it stays.
  • The applicant files proof of liability insurance. The city can ask for a bond.
  • Blocking a traffic lane, bike lane or sidewalk also needs a traffic control plan.

Ask the hauler who applies for the permit before delivery day.

Before you book, ask the hauler

  • What the price includes: delivery, pickup, dump fees and days.
  • The weight limit and the overage charge.
  • What can't go in the box.

Prices: we have no local prices to show. The hauler quotes a real price before you book.

Questions

Straight answers

Are you a dumpster company?

No. We're a referral service and don't own trucks or dumpsters. If we find a hauler, only that one company gets your request.

Does it cost anything?

No. Asking is free, and you don't have to book anything.

When will I hear back?

We can't promise a time. A person handles each request while we sign up haulers in Des Moines. If we can't find one, we'll tell you.

Do I need a permit for a dumpster in Des Moines?

Not if it sits on your own property. In the street, an alley or on the sidewalk, you need a city obstruction permit and proof of liability insurance.

Who sees my details?

Apon Labs, which runs this site, and the one hauler who takes your job. We never sell your details or send them to a list.
